Some things are worth paying for, and this is one of them.
You need to have this professionally done. And by professionally, I mean by a piercing studio or tattoo shop, not by a girl at the mall with a piercing gun. It will cost more, but it's going to be worth it in the long run. Home piercings almost always get infected, and do it yourself piercings get very little sympathy when it happens. A piercing shop will know what guage and size jewelry to use. They'll also have special piercing needles to make this a quick and painless as possible. Not to mention as sterile as possible.

Unless your friend is a LICENSED PROFESSIONAL, don't go through with it. More than likely, you're going to end up with an awful infection. You'll have to then go to your Physician, get antibiotics and take them for approx 1 week. Isn't it much easier to just pay $20 bucks and have it done by a professional??

Get it done at a tatoo shop. They have licenses. Ask you doc to recommend one. Your ear is full of nerves a bones, so if you friend hits one you have tons of medical things that could go wrong (ie broken bones, paralization). Play it safe. Also, when you get it done at a tatoo shop, they do soooo much more sterlazation than at someplace like Claries. Good luck!

Get it done professionally by someone licensed to do it. You'll have a lower risk of infection.

dont use ice or anything like that...i actually went to Wal-mart where they use a piercing gun to pierce it and it doesnt hurt at all. its done in a matter of seconds and to tell you the truth...the healing process hurts more than the actually piercing but its totally worth it!
