Nothing will stop it, but if you groom her every day, try and make it twice a day. I had a long haired cat and he had eczema, the vet suggested I trim his fur down. The cat was so laid back he didn't mind and because I'd trimmed him down, he didn't ma ult the same.

What I have done was to constantly brush their fur on a daily basis. This helps reduce the shedding. I don't know if your cat might like it, but I wash my 2 cats at least once a month. I noticed the shedding decreased alot.

Try grooming at least once a day. That probably won't stop the shedding completely, but it might help reduce it. All that loose fur has to come off somehow, and it's a lot less messy if you brush it out.

If you can vacuum the cat with an upholstery attachment. Some like it and some don't. Unfortunately my current cat doesn't like it. But my last cat LOVED it, I used to vacuum him once a day. It got to were if I pulled out the vacuum cleaner he would lay down in front of it until he was done... Then I could vacuum the rest of the house.

My cat jimmy has long hair also. Luckily he cleans himself ALOT and makes my job easier.. but I brush him and roll him (with a pet roller) a few times a week and give him hairball control treats as a precaution. Cats who shed alot tend to get frequent hairballs.

I have one Himi and one Persian, and both require a LOT of brushing, and they STILL shed. That is the down side to long-haired cats.

Make sure that you are feeding your cat a good premium cat food. I would suggest Felidae, Wysong, Natural Balance, Wellness. Then you have to brush, brush, brush. My cats don't shed much and I feed them Felidae.
