too many programs, reduce your ram space, and if you keep adding more things to your system ,you're practically suffocating
your computer,in this case it will be good to start removing hard ware and programs that you do not use,run a disc defragment
,erase files ,in other words start to clean to make space and
get rid of unused programs

Ok, sometimes yes, this means you need more memory, but.. there is something else to consider,
first, its McAfee it self, they stoped making good software back in 98. Second, You have windows one care running the same time, if not scanning its running in your processes. You dont want to run more than one of the same type of program.
Lastley, the only time XP should freeze when there is an issue is if there is a hardware issue. XP will increase your page file if it was a ram issue. If it never does then thats not the issue.
Some times when we scan, we wont know we have a virus or spy ware. Sometimes it causes the program, (anti-virus or spyware removal to stop running or freeze the machine. I would go to Our website and review the products we have listed there, and try CA for 30 days, you will love it! Tried and tested the best software!
You can get your free 30 day trial at: http://consumerdownloads.ca.com/consumer/apps/iss3_na_trial.exe
THis will start the download.

Try running your AV program in Safe Mode. That's the best way anyway.
To get into Safe Mode:
Turn your PC on or Restart.
As soon as you see the black and white screen where the system is checking things out, press and hold down the F8 key. Continue holding until you get a black and white menu. Press the appropriate key for Safe Mode.
Start, Programs, open your AV program and let it run a full scan. Might take a couple of hours.

First run out to http://update.microsoft.com and run a custom scan. Install all high-priority updates.
If this doesn't change your performance, I recomend the iMac with boot camp. It's great.

It seems that your anti-virus is damaged, try to uninstall it and then reinstall it
