I want to thank you for serving in the armed services. It is men and women like you that should be thanked.
I too served in the military and my husband is retired from the military. We work for changes because of the people who did not serve yet want to make decisions for people like you and me without understanding us.
So yes, by all means speak out for whatever you believe. The beauty about America is that I can agree or disagree.

Been there, done that, is not relevant where or how long. Also is not relevant that, though everyone is supposed to be able to say/do anything that does not hurt others, it happens anyway. The only relevant factor in this country today is a question of money. If you have a lot, you continue to make it, if you don't, you continue to get poorer. Thanks to Bush and Company, but not only them, the gap between rich and poor gets wider every day. The rich have the power, the poor don't. And any voice that the poor have in government is drowned out by the rich and special interest groups; Congress and the President have lost total touch with the general public. So, yes, you should and no, we don't, and that is only going to get worse.

I agree with you! Although I include not only the military but firemen and police as having done time fighting for the U.S.A.
Of course it is because of folks like you defending the rights of the rest of America that they are able to exercise their right of freedom of speech and complain so it is kinda a catch 22.

It would be nice if people who complained and had a say in this country served in some way, not necessarily military, but in some way gave back to the country. But this is America, and things do not work that way.

You are right you have earned the right. I did my time too during Nam. I think all young people should have to serve our country at least a year in some capacity, not necessarily the military.

Actually the romans had the idea...you want to be a citizen, you must serve either in the military or civilian side of government to have be a "Citizen" of Rome....even if you were born there....no automatic right.
I agree with you, if you have not served shut up. You don't have the right to complain.

Yes, you have earned the right.
However, I believe that every American should enjoy the benefits and privileges of these freedoms and rights.
I listen to most opinions Americans have - it is their right - but I just listen a little more intently when I know that the person talking not only wanted these rights, but was also willing to defend them.

I sooooooo agree with you. I just love the military so much. That's why I want to join the military after high school, and become a marine, or a pilot in the air force. I still haven't decided yet. Still, you are sooo right.

I did my time also, inlcuding 24yrs and a year in Vietnam. So we've done our part to keep the USA free, so others, well meaning or not, can enjoy the freedom.
