14 Ways to Get Rid of Acne
1. Don't pick, press, rub, or otherwise manipulate your pimples. If you do, you risk spreading the bacteria and increasing the chances of scarring.
2. Use an over-the-counter product containing benzoyl peroxide once or twice a day. It helps break up the plug of dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil that clogs the pore and forms an acne blemish. And it cuts down on the bacteria, too. Start with the lowest concentration, and work your way up.
3. Try over-the-counter products containing sulfur or resorcinol, which help unplug oil glands by irritating the skin. However, most dermatologists believe that benzoyl peroxide is the most effective over-the-counter ingredient for acne.
4. Don't just spot-treat acne; put the product on acne-prone areas, too. That can include your entire face (avoid the lips and eyes), back, and chest.
5. Go easy on your face. Washing removes oils from the surface of the skin, not from within the plugged ducts. In fact, if you're too aggressive in your quest for cleanliness, you may end up drying out or irritating the sensitive skin on your face.
6. Wash properly once or twice a day, using a mild soap, and rub lightly with your fingertips and warm water. If your skin is oily, use a soap with benzoyl peroxide for its drying properties.
7. Don't use brushes, rough sponges, cleansers with granules or walnut hulls, or anything similar on the delicate facial skin.
8. Don't use oily products, such as hair pomades, heavy oil-based facial moisturizers, or oily cleansers.
9. Use water-based make-up.
10. Don't get a facial. You may end up doing more harm than good.
11. Don't rest your chin on your hands or constantly touch your face.
12. Protect your skin from cancer and wrinkles without aggravating your acne by choosing an oil- free sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher.
13. Don't worry about what you eat, unless you notice a correlation between a particular food and your skin breaking out.
14. Watch out for iodine, which can be found in multiple vitamins and iodized salt. Some doctors believe iodine may encourage acne.

have you tried Neutragena's Rapid Clear face cleanser? I have been using that stuff for the past five years and I love it. You can buy it at walmart and it does honestly work.
I also exfoliate my face once a week with a brown sugar scrub that i put together at home :
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons milk
just put that on your face and gently rub for about 1 minute and then rinse with luke warm water.
I usually skip a moisturizer too, which everyone says i shouldnt but i have found that not using a moisturizer = less pimples...so i dont if that would be the case with you too...im not sure?
if your pimples are still there after all that...try little things around the house like using:
rubbing alcohol - it clears up the pimples by drying them out. it will also dry out your skin too so you will need a moisturizer for that. but it works for me.
Toothpaste (the paste -not gel) works on clearing up acne too..im not sure how but it does. I just put it on my face of a night after ive washed it and let it set for about 30 minutes and then i rinse it off. dont leave it on over night though because it will burn your skin - i know that from experience.
Whatever you do DONT pick at them because that will make them spread even more.
If nothing helps, i would suggest going to a dermatologist and see what they have to say.
Good luck!

i have dealt with acne. i tried everything. i really did. then my mom started buying stuff from avon catalogs. i dont know if you know anything about avon stuff?? it's just another brand of things. and they have acne stuff. it works for some people, not for some. It worked for me. my skin is so sensitive, and so prone to breaking out over anything...and most of the time things in the catalog would be on sale so prices were very reasonable. they have deep cleansers in that i use 2-3x weekly and overnight acne stuff that i use whenever i break out..it clears up almost immediately now. also-there are stronger things-like 'targeted blemish remover' and that is like a miracle wonder.
it may or may not work for you but if you've tried everything else i would definately suggest Avon. You have to use it religiously at first but after about 2 weeks, you should either notice a difference, or know that it isn't working. Good luck!!!

1. Eat healthy. 2. Wash your face atleast 3 times daily. 3. Use lesser chemical products on your skin as they clog pores unnecessarily 4. If you put on make up, check it's compatibility with your skin. 5. Go natural. There are a lot of ayurvedic medicines for acne like Evergel 90 by Prakruti JiyoFresh. Peace!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Everyone on here has some great ideas. Here's another suggestion. After washing your face and before applying moisturizer, wet a washcloth with cool water and lay it over your face until it feels warm, to help close your pores. This will help keep all the yuck out of your pores and help eliminate future acne. (Hint: this is why the tell you to rinse your conditioner out of your hair with cool water too- it closes the pores on your head and makes your hairy shiny!)

try using proactiv or clearasil overnight pimple defense gel (much cheaper) at least once daily. washing your face regularly with a good soap can also help especially if you have an oily skin. do not pop pimples because it will only worsen it and it will leave ugly scars on your face.

I have dealt with skin problems for years including cystic acne. I started using Arbonne International products, and I can't believe the change in my skin. They have a line specifically for acne that my friend's son has used with great success.
