If you're on a budget DON'T get a wedding planner! It's way too expensive. I'm in the process of planning my wedding too. I've basically researched EVERYTHING on the internet. The websites that have worked best for me were
theknot.com
weddingchannel.com
davidsbridal.com
and just doing random searches on Google.
I also asked around. A lot of my friends had planned their wedding themselves and gave me a lot of awesome feedback on where to get started and everything like that. Just relax, and do a little bit at a time! It'll all be worth it in the end!
Congratulations!

ConGrats First off!
okay so go to Barnes and Nobles and get a planner (I have Planning A wedding to Remember by Beverly Clark) They usually have some kind of checklist.
Okay now relax, think who do I want by my side through all the stress (pick a close friend who isn't bossy and is calm).
Pick you maids.
Tell everyone.
and then open that book and start the planning!

First set a date, then think about getting a wedding planner. If you can not afford one, maybe friends or your mother could help. But you have to make sure that they only HELP plan it. Its your special day and you should have the final say so. Good Luck!

THE KNOT!!
That website is amazing! They have chatrooms that all focus on certain subjects(dress, decorations, invitations, etc.) and they have local chatrooms which help a lot! They also have a checklist that will help you.
