why whould you get one over the other

I would not recommend either.
I think the FJ is ugly (subjective opinion). It is really just a redressed 4Runner that requires Premium at the pump.
Car & Driver magazine generally likes the Tacoma except for soft brakes. Check the Dec. or January issue.

FJ Cruiser beacuse it can fit more people and it is a little stronger than the tacoma

go w/ the toyota tacoma b/c the fj cruiser looks ugly to me the tacoma is a truck it has a truck bed you can add acessories on to the tacoma and it will make it look better add it on to an fj and it looks eveb crappier

OOOOh you lucky dog to have that kind of a choice. Just for sheer spunkiness I would get the FJ very unique. The Tacoma's a great truck but in this one looks prevail.
