i have 3 boys and a cat that is 5 years old and i want a puppy. plz awnser

Well, the type of dog that is a good choice for starters, is a labrador retriever. They are very loyal, kind, and they spend alot of time around children, they will learn quickly to not nip or bite. I know this from experience. I have a black lab. He has never bitten anyone, except a stranger who he saw near my jewerly box. Lol. True story

get a dog that is large enough not to get hurt by three boys. but if they are really caring animal lovers then just about any breed will do. l think that you should look on the web and see what you and your boys will like or do to the shelter with the three sons and see what they have. and all people think their breed is the best. so you really want to know check it out on the web. seeing that you have a cat, shows the boys like pets. a puppy will get along faster with a cat. good luck for you and your three sons.

Golden labs are said to be one of the best type of family dogs, plus I think they get along with cats as well. Hopefully your three boys will help you out on the dog's care too!

I agree with Bubbles that cockers are great. But I think whatever you do, you should get the puppy from a pound. Save a life instead of promoting a breeder's wealth.

GO TO AKC.ORG start by researching different breeds,, find out what they were bred for,, find out their size , their needs etc.. or you could go pick one out at the shelter...
