The dams milk will dry up naturally. She will be uncomfortable for a few days. Keep her temperature and if she carrys a lot of milk you can wrap her for support. I do agree I would take her to the vet for a once over. What happened with the pups??? Sad!

Your first concern should be why the pups died? And is the mom at risk? She needs to be seen immediately and take in the pups for the vet to examine for cause!

There is a shot to help dry her up but that is not the emergency concern at this point. She could be seriously ill herself.

You may end up with no choice but to spay her, but shouldn't need the vet to tell you that. The way you worded your question does not indicate much concern for her well being.

Mom's milk will dry up by itself within about a week. If there are no pups nursing, there is no stimulus for her breasts to produce more milk.

We're so sorry to hear about your loss.

Get the *itch fixed as soon as the vet says it's ok. No need to breed her if the first litter wasn't viable.
