America itself isn't in danger, and a military with members not as motivated would be less professional. Even though 4 out of 5 Americans in a recent survey oppose the draft, the issue keeps on appearing in the legislature.

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An influential Democratic lawmaker on Sunday called for reinstatement of the draft as a way to boost U.S. troop levels and draw a broader section of the population into the military or public service." However..

Since no Republican voted for the draft when it was submitted previously it is likely President Bush will veto the measure the next time it comes up for a vote. It does not seem likely that the Democrats will be able to overcome a veto despite the calls to expand the war in Afghanistan and refusals to approve withdrawal from Iraq.

as some people in the world actually use logic to answer questions of this sort I should point out the facts and let you make an informed decision and logic dictates that if you continue fighting in different countries and using your reserves to go to battle time and time again and then extending the tours they serve common sense and logic tells you that there must come a time when you run out of troops and since we no longer have willing enlistees as evidenced by the poor numbers recruited there will sooner of later have to be a draft and when that happens then the troops will come home that is the only difference between Iraq and Vietnam in Vietnam there was a draft going on and that helped end that conflict

The issue is being pushed in the legislature by the democrats look it up I am not fooling and they want it to use as a tool for political gain to use it like a political lever against George Bush and the Republican party and monopolize power in Washington.

no..but I think it is coming as they want a lot of young men out of the country when they institute the next part of their plan to put Ameriocans in the concentration camps so they can get militia from countries that hate americans and have no problem hurting Americans..they know our troops would rebell and not follow those orders..they want the young men gone..

I think it isd coming as they have filled thousands of selective service jobs alreay and there is talk of new invasions.
