What if we knew for certain this was He returned, and He was very dismayed at how we have used religion to beat one another with? Would the churches reject Him in favor of their own traditions?

When Jesus came the first time, that's what many of them chose to do.

The people with whom Jesus had a major beef was not the homosexuals or the feminists or anybody Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson love to denounce. His beef was with people like Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson! The religious leaders for their greed, hypocrisy, and distortion of truth.

I have no doubt that if Jesus came back today, he would have the exact same issues over the exact same kinds of people.

He can see it all now...He knows how much of what He taught is no longer being taught..He is seeing how people are still beating each other with it. Todays's christianity was supposed to be that which Jesus taught. He was Jewish, however when He came as the Old Testament talked about the saviour to come, a lot of what the Jewish people did was finished....as in feasts, ceremonies, festivals, sacrifices etc.
When Jesus came, He was teaching people Himself what was to be taught and believed. He told people how they had to do things and how to behave towards each other. He taught what is still to come...
So, those in His day, Jews included, who followed Him and what He taught and began teaching then began to be called christians.
There is very little resemblance to that in todays christianity. There are so many man made teachings based on a couple of texts.
Jesus already knows what is happening...and I bet it pains Him...
The road that leads to Him is NARROW..and not many will find it..i think that is in scripture.
Even though churches believe they haven't rejected Him..they actually had but not following Him as He asked them to do. They have rejected His ways and a lot of His truths...but they continue doing what they do.
Remember the text that says something like "not all who say Lord will be in heaven"..

I don't think he can 'come back' but, if he could, Jesus would definitely not recognize what many sects call Christianity. His words and teachings have been lost to many over the years. I think he would be horrified at what is done in his name. I think he would reject those churches and have to try all over again to teach his principles.

One of his Apostles will remind him of the Christianity, and the another of the Jehovah, and the other of the Islam, and all in all will have 12 Apostles to tell him of the stories how people have believed their non existent guidance to God and not of Him that was sent to unite them all.

Jesus has always been able to identify his own. He knows who is practicing true Christianity. As for the counterfeit christians, he prophesied concerning them anyway.

Our Lord was here!!!!!!!!! (We did not recognized the signs nor the warnings). " Be vigilant ", "I will come like a thief in the night..."
"Will I find faith on earth?" He said among many other things.
At the present time 6,000,000 million people open their eyes, and pray towards Mt. Carmel every day.

That would actually be the most likely scenario...

Jesus wouldn't know what the heck Joel Osteen was going on about, same with the rest of them.

Well many people claiming to be followers of Christ will be unrecognized by Him.

Matthew 7
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That would be a very bad thing. Many people would have a lot to answer for. I'm just glad I'm right: I bet my life on it (literally).
