We live in a manufactured home that rests on cinder blocks and are building an addition which will also rest on cinder blocks. But are wondering how much weight can be supported by one block so we know how many to purchase.

You mean concrete blocks, they can hold more than your addition will weigh.

When the cinder block is laying on its side it will hold approximately 500 pounds
