how do i save a document into open office as if it were a MS word document?

When you are ready to save
click FILE
scroll down
choose SAVE AS
this will open a window where you can choose a save location, a file name and a file type
Click the downward arrow next to file type and choose
Microsoft Word (2000 etc...) .doc

There should be an option when you go to save the file to save it in Word format.

if that doesnt work, just save it as whatever the default is, and go to a conversion site, such as www.media-convert.com , and turn it into a .doc
