Has any one tried the above yet and what is it like

wow everyone seems to be asking about vista... i have tried the beta and i think it looks really nice but doesnt pack the punch of XP. the one major thing that i love about visa is that it has/will have DirectX 10 this only important if your are a gamer or do graphic stuff.

I have it running on an office computer. There are some back end things I don't like about it such as the new builtin idiot proofing function. Under this function when you perform certain operations you are pormted that you must be an administrator before continuing. You even get prompted if you are an administrator. They also got rid of Documents and Settings and not place user profiles under c:\users. So we've went from c:\windows\profiles under 98 and similar under Windows NT. Under 2k and XP Microsoft added Documents and Settings, and now under Vista they are using c:\users. I wish they'd settle on one construct for user profiles.

Other than that it's OK. Truthfully nothing that will make your jaw drop.
