Just say it! I would give anything to hear those words from my kids. They mean more than anything in the world.

If you are thinking so much about this, you must really have a need to talk to him about it or tell him how you feel. So, just tell him. He will probably be glad and thankful to hear it from you. And just because you perceive him as macho does not mean that he does not have a soft place in his heart for you. The most macho man in the world is the biggest softy when it comes to his children. He would probably do anything for you and never felt the kind of love he feels for you until you were born into his life. Believe me, if you never tell him, you will regret it. If you wait for "the right time" it will never be right. Just tell him and you will feel relief and he will be glad and proud that you were able to show your feelings.

There are many ways to express your love. It is hard for some people to really assure their love toward those who they have high regards. There are many ways of not uttering single a word to show how much you love him.

Buy a small cute present with a card that says in it how you feel. Cook breakfast or lunch for your dad, and buy the things he mostly needs or use. Sit and watch a program he like to watch on t.v or rent a movie that he have most high respect for and make popcorn and provide a drinks. "Rent, Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein" I always thought that was funny! Oh put gas in car when you go to the video store.

Your dad would understand by your actions how much you love him. If he say "I love you" say "You too dad"
God Bless and Good Luck.

Ron, if you can't say "I love you, Dad", then you can do other things to show your love and appreciation for him. Pat him on the shoulder, say thank you, be respectful. I bet, however, that your dad would love to hear that you love him. Doesn't have to be so sappy either, ya know! Perhaps when both of you are doing something together...working on the car, doing homework (not sure how old you are), having dinner, etc...just break in and say, "thanks Dad. I just want to tell you that I love you" THen you can take a breath : )

i can't answer why you are the way you are. i would have loved so much to have a father in my life, the one i had here and there, my real dad, wasn't exactly father material, lets just put it that way. i would tell him asap. you never know what lies ahead in the road in front of you. i have lost 2 brothers and my father and i wish i could go back in time and say those precious words. so take advantage of having him there. the fact that you feel guilt shows you want to and you know you should and that you want to because you love him too and not just out of obligation. so , take some deep breathes and tell your dad something i know he would just Love to hear from you. good luck.

I agree with writing a letter, but if you really feel that way about your father, then you should speak to his face. Maybe he is just waitng for you to say something. Don't be afraid because in the end, you will feel much better that you told him.

Sometimes among family members, it is difficult to say I love you. Since young we have been brought up to treat each other in a certain way.

Just show him you love him by doing other things for him like taking the family out for dinner during his birthday. Or buying him a birthday cake. Or help him in other matters he needs help.

It's hard, I know. Just think about this: One day your dad might leave and never come back. It happened to me. My dad went to work and had a heart attack and died in his car.

Just say, "You're the greatest dad in the world." That will let him know you love him.

Why don't you write him a letter and tell him how you feel?
