No, you only need to tip wait staff or delivery persons...if you're picking it up and taking it out, then there's no tip.

The short answer is no the price you pay for your take away is for them to cook the food and package it for you. If you were to eat it at the restaurant and were waited on by someone then you should tip for the service rendered by the wait staff. If the food were delivered to you then yes a standard two or three dollar tip is suggested for the driver because he has preformed a service by bringing the food to you..

certain. in many cases the guy dealing consisting of your order would not receives a fee finished minimum salary because the agency assumes that those human beings will be tipped. And a lot extra is going into it than merely bagging up your food. as well answering the phone, taking the order, putting the order in, ringing up your finished, dealing with the money for the transaction and bagging up the food, they even ought to make effective that's all prepared properly and that each and every one area products, garnishes/sauces and plastic ware are there. they ought to do all this in a well timed way too, because for the most area, those who order to bypass are a lot less affected man or woman than those who are available in to eat. i imagine that's extremely crucial to tip the to bypass in the adventure that they are really busy, because they often ought to cope with extra orders at one time than servers do. All that stated, i do not in many cases tip more advantageous than 15% for to bypass's. From own journey, i recognize that to bypass workers do not assume as a lot in information as a server might want to, yet they do assume some thing for his or her artwork.

A tip is a type of thank you for providing good service. Normally, on take out orders I don't tip. There have been occasions when the staff puts in that extra effort, then I would leave them a little something. Otherwise, it is not expected.

Depends on the restaurant. Most chinese & pizza places are set up FOR take out. If your referring to a place that is dine in, with waitresses & waiters taking care of customers, please tip at least a coupla bucks or 10% AT LEAST . To-go orders are a waaaay bigger pita (pain in the ***) than dine-ins. Everything has to be wrapped up...its just not set up for take-out. You're also taking time from the dining room customers. There's alot of stress in getting the order absolutely correct- we don't want to forget anything. And thanks for asking! pay attention IF A WAITRESS IS HANDING THE FOOD TO YOU. the cook certainly doesn't put it together for you.

No. Take-out tips are not necessary.

However, if the experience was a good one, a buck or two is greatly appreciated by people not used to being tipped.

They will remember you in the future and you might even get your order pushed ahead in a busy time in the future if they remember you or you get a reputation as a tipper.

I don't. I only give a 20% tip when going to eat in a restaurant. Why should I give a tip when I will be enjoying my feast in the comfort of my own home??

No. A tip is for the service you've received, not the price of the food.
If you take the food home, no one refilled your drink, brought you the hot sauce, or extra dinner rolls. These are things services that we tip for, not the food preparation.

usually no. but there is this one place near my university, and they skip to go orders so far ahead of the line, the wait is only 3-5 minutes. i usually leave them a dollar for such speedy service in the tip jar by the register.
