If some one gave you perserves that are are dated 2004. Its it okay to open it and eat it or is it too old?

As long as the seal is not broken they are fine to eat..Things in cans last years...

Even though they are dated 2004 they are still fine as long as you have not broken the seal yet. Go ahead and eat them.

Well that depends what it is?
Foods that are home-canned and stored properly should last up to one year.
