Um, YOUR MISSING THE POINT OF THE VATICAN AND THE VATICAN BANK.

AMASS WEALTH AND POWER TO INFLUENCE. The Vatican Bank has already been embroiled in scandal after scandal, don't kid yourself, there's nothing christ-like about them.

Liquidating Vatican assets would probaby have no more effect in ending world hunger than any other current initiative. World hunger is not a consequence of lack of money ... it is the end result of corrupt political regimes.

I believe the anti-christ is going to use the Vatican and the Catholic church to form his one-world religion, and that the anti-christ will come from that geographical area.
False miracles like visions of Mary, and the Fatima appearances, ratified by the pope, where Mary says she is the "co-redemtrix" is demon based. Jesus is the complete, sinless, perfect sacrifice. Believieng that other nonsense is blasphemy.

That would be an admission that the church has had little on its mind beyond the acquisition of wealth and power, and exercising political influence. The men in the silk dresses aren't going to give it up that easily; they've spent 2000 years collecting all that loot. They're best at running nose-holding charities giving out scraps to the poor. I don't think it's ever going to change.

Even if they went around and handed out cash to people all over the world, it wouldn't amount to much in the long run. "The poor will always be with you..." wasn't just a casual statement, it's as true as can be.

Besides, let them store up their treasures here, where it can be burned or stolen, I'll just keep storing up my treasures in heaven :)

Because there are some things more important to the catholic church besides hunger. Like making Loads and loads of cash, world domination, making people ignorant, and making sure that white rich christians are the superior ones.

Yes they are with TRILLIONS.

For the same reason any other big Banking Organization does not.

Or for that matter Saudi Arabia! They would not even feed the (so called) Palestinians in past years.

Businesses are NOT Charities.

I am not Catholic, and won't get into that, as I can't share their viewpoint. A question I've asked before (though not on Yahoo) is why spend billions on NASA, wondering about what's "out there" when people need help RIGHT HERE.
