By definition, the word “spiritual” simply means a feeling of oneness with the universe or a creator or some kind.

Creationism, which is based on one source, the bible. A book by human beings. At a time when the knowledge of the world was limited. Says that humans were created in the image of the designer of the universe. That humans are created SEPERATELY from all other life in the planet. That humans are the most important species on this planet and in the universe.
Or...
Evolution through natural selection, which is based on science, a study of the natural world. Many observations, experiments and lab work, reveals that all life on this planet is indeed CONNECTED. That all life shares a common evolutionary heritage and a common organic chemistry. If you go back far enough into earth’s past, you will that all biological life alive today, humans included, have a common and single ancestor.

Which is a more “spiritual” experience, oneness with god
or oneness with the cosmos?

Also...
All life is made up of four basic elements, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Carbon. And these four elements are made in the insides of stars. Also that these elements are common everywhere in the universe. And the laws of nature are the same, everywhere. So that means that all life in the universe, from our tiny planet to the most distant one, is all related. This according to the discoveries revealed in Science, which is the search for the truth.

Hey, whether humans were created SEPARATE or evolved from a COMMON ANCESTOR, this much is CERTAIN: we are the dominant species on this planet!! This is our world, and we reserve the right to do whatever the f..k we want with it!! Creationism says God GAVE us that right, and evolution says we EARNED that right through SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!!!! There's no way to escape it!!!

Pal, you sound to me like another anti-American environmentalist who wants us to get rid of meat, oil run cars, and flush toilets in the name of saving "penguins, trees, and fresh water." It's like Ann Coulter said: "water is an infinite resource. It falls out of the sky!"

I think that proves the existence of God. to quote you "that all biological life alive today, humans included, have a common single ancestor." GOD! If God is the creator of "everything" doesn't that mean science too? Science may be just a human way of explaining how God works. God says he didn't just make life he made the planets the moon, the sun the stars, the entire universe!

As far as humans being the most important thing on the planet, I have to agree to some level. We certainly impact the earth more than another thing and humans are also the only living thing on the planet capable of a relationship with God.

The Miriam Webster online dictionary defines "Spiritual"
As 1. of, relating to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit.
2. a. of relating to sacred matters b. ecclesiastical rather than lay or temporal 3. concerned with religious values
4. related or joined in spirit 5 a. of or relating to supernatural beings or phenomena b. of, relating to, or involving spiritualism

They both are spiritual experiences. I feel that hearing the original creation story, is reconnecting because you hear the bones of what happened. The fact the God created all the things in steps (days) supports a process, otherwise wouldn't God have just created everything in ONE day! When I say bones, I mean all the important stuff, condensed in an easy for everyone to understand way. This is what happened, this is when, this is why. What evolution does is say here is the same thing that happened, the universe and all things with in it were created, this is the actual process, with human facts & measurements and numbers & stats, and probabilities, etc.etc.

Even Einstein said, "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." & Louis Pasteur the
Father of Microbiology, developed "pasteurization"
"The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator." & "Science brings men nearer to God." I can’t remember the person who said this, so I’ll paraphrase: “The more I study the heavens the more I am sure God exists!” Here is a web site for Scientists and their quotes on science & religion & spirituality.

I am a Christian that believes in evolution, both the creation story & the theory of evolution have places in my heart spiritually. The belief in evolution does not conflict with my faith in Christ!!! Which is a more important truth. I find arguing over the creation of this world we live to be trivial, when compared with the pursuit of Jesus Christ, and all that comes with that. God, doesn't care if you believe in creationism, or evolution, he cares if you believe in his Son Jesus Christ and why he was sent to this earth, (which exists which ever way earth got here, it got here!)

To answer your provocative two part question requires defining your concept of what is God? I agree wholeheartedly with your logical elimination of the God described in the Bible.
It requires Einstein to best describe God and the Cosmos.
Einstein felt that everything happens by reason, and direction, and that the Universe is not just an unplanned accident.
Believe in this reason, or superior intelligence, is the noblest spiritual experience in God and an orderly Cosmos.

It is science that is evolving the most. Science used to think the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it. I agree we are one with the cosmos but science will advance farther than it has now. Do you really think everything that can be known about life has already been discovered?

If you haven't experienced oneness with God, then you can't say which one is better.

Spiritual = awareness of more that the eye sees and the mind can comprehend.

You error is several points
The Bible by its prophetic nature is far beyond the ability of man. (See Full filled prophecies of the Bible)
The Bible authored by the Creator is a limited item by an unlimited being.

Life begets life
Non-life DOES NOT beget life

"In some respects, science has far surpassed religion in delivering awe. How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, "This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed"? Instead they say, "No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.""

Oneness with the cosmos? Sounds like oneness with the bong. Why do people insist on spiritualism? "Oh, no, I'm not a Christian, I think Christianity is stupid. I want my spirit to fly in the wind and commune with nature." No you don't. You don't have a 'spirit'.

Let-me-drill-this-into-your-thick-skull:
Evolution is a THEORY invented by A HUMAN who later converted to CREATIONISM

Really, everything about the beginning of the world is a theory with not enoughe evidence to support it.
