I hear all kinds of crap about people who read Nostradamus on the internet, and they also read about the Mayan Calender. When 2013 comes around, will those people be quiet?

Because the changing climate, 6.5 billion mouths to feed worldwide, all these weapons we have, the downfall of society, the economies close to collapse, the food being farmed nowadays not being as nutritious as the food grown in the past because important nutrients are being overfarmed out of the soil, the rainforests being chopped down, the oceans becoming increasingly devoid of fish and whales.

Things like that.

The 'end' of this wicked system is near just as Sodom and Gomorrah's end came;
Also, the great deluge in Noah's Day bathed the whole earth clean in symbolic baptism.
And before that, Pharoah and his Egyptian army were destroyed as the nation of Israelites and those with them went through God's symbolic baptism as He stayed the great water walls of the Red Sea

Why does everyone say the end is near?

if you want truth on the end of time study the bible and the many prophetic scriptures about the subject.

Nostradamus, Mayan, Egyptology anyone who claims to know that date the world will end is in complete error. the Jehovah witnesses missed this several times before they learned.

we know not the day nor hour...... we will know the season!
study for yourself the Word and prepare yourself.

Because their lives are so miserable that they actually look forward to a Big Kaboom and seeing everyone who didn't believe them get horribly fried while they sit back on their little cloud in Heaven with their harp and praise their egomaniac's "greatness" for eternity.

I believe the end times are here. As for the actual end, nobody knows that answer.

The world has changed dramatically since 2000.

It's kind of depressing to think the end is near, so I don't think that because it is ridiculous. Science says it's thousands of years away...given that we don't all kill each other before then, which is also very likely.
