When I download a movie from limewire on my laptop and try to play it back on my windows media player, its all sound and no picture, why doesnt it have a picture?? I have the newest version of media player.

You may need the Divx codec (www.divx.com).

It is probably an issue with the video codec. Different video manufacturers use various video/audio technologies (codecs). In order to decode this data and view/hear it properly you need the right codec. Windows media player only comes with the standard codec set.

You could try installing the divX codec from www.divx.com. Since it is a file from limewire, it could be something else. Therefore I recommend you use a program called VLC Media Player. It is probably one of the most versatile players out there with the most comprehensive list of video and audio codecs.
