I want to know where I can find an anti- spyware program that is free and automatically deletes tracking cookies, eliminating the need for scans every day. I have AVG 7.5, but the resident shield trial has run out and it's a big hassle to scan my hard drive every day, as it takes 4 hours to do so. I used to be able to set it to delete tracking cookies automatically, and I want to know if I can download a FREE program to do this. If so, what is the name?

There's no program I know of that automatically deletes tracking cookies.

You can delete them through the regular use of AdAware and Spybot S&D. Combining these two programs with AVG should keep your computer relatively safe. All these programs are free.

I used AVG in the past, and it failed miserably when I had a major virus problem. I switched to Avast! antivirus and have never looked back.

Spybot Search & Destroy (www.safer-networking.net) includes scheduled scans for free, you need to choose Mode > Advanced and click on the Settings section, under file types make sure tracking cookies are checked, schedule it to run overnight every night the computer is turned on. You can supplement that with SpywareBlaster (www.javacoolsoftware,com) which will block a lot of those cookies, however the free version doesn't do automatic updates.

Adaware and Spybot S&D are two of the best free ones. However your security setting,in your OS, has the ability of deleting all cookies, browser history, recent documents, and some others.

use the sbc online protection. that's the one that I use, and works perfectly. you have to scan every month, and only takes like 4 minutes. sometimes it takes even less. and it's free.
