it's survival of the fittest..the strong shall live and the weak shall die..that's the basic law of nature..

in the case of cockroaches..they have the ability to continue their generation by mass producing and been able to adopt to all environment types..whether domestic or wild niches..they have defensive moves..they can fly..camouflage in the dark..crawl thru thin cracks..and strive without formal food..they can live a day more even you cut it's head so it have time to produce egg before it dies..some breeds can produce without mating or asexual in nature..they're the fittest..in fairness..

Not sure what "giant deer" you are referring to....but I would be sure your teacher could prove his words. We do know animal life has changed mostly because the earth' atmosphere has changed.....and cockroaches reproduce in much bigger numbers...and thank goodness, we still know how to get rid of them, too.

One explanation is that at one time there was a canopy around the earth and that at the time of the flood that dissolved and ended a "tropical" atmosphere that enabled animals to live longer and grow ...like dinosaurs, etc.....after the flood, which there is total evidence occurred over the entire earth, there was no longer the vegetation those animals needed to survive. And yes...there is evidence left of both dinosaurs and humans living at the same time. Perhaps this is the type of animal your teacher is referring to. As to the 250 million years...it is a theory not everyone would agree with. Evidently, your teacher does.

You are allowed to think for yourself ....not accept everything as total fact without total proof. Don't put that on your answer sheet, however!

cockroaches can survive in wider range of climate, and can eat wider range of things.

you should borrow class notes from somebody who did understand.
