I think it is better to be honest, but be gentle when telling them, you don't want to scar them for future relationships. Maybe tell them that you wish that you had the feelings for them that you want to have as they are a really great person, but unfortunatly you don't - and you want them to find someone that will love and care for them they way the deserve.
Goodluck, breaking up is never an easy thing to do.

It's always better to be up front and honest with anyone...whether you've lost interest or not.....

At LEAST text this person to let them know the score.
The guy I was seeing just suddenly cut off all contact with me, leaving me in no doubt that he'd "ended" it, but what a cowardly way to go about it! I was really confused and hurt. In a bizarre way, I think he did that to spare MY feelings as well as his own in that he couldn't face telling me it was over!
However we hadn't been seeing each other for long so I'd have got over it - I'd rather have been told!!

yes brutally so. if ur interested in someone else be honest about that too. if youve any feelings for this person at all be honest because it leaves them more understanding excepting and capable of moving on. if you sweeten things or try to make them hate you it will really break their confidence and leave them feeling unworthy and insecure of future relationships.

Absolutely, without a doubt. You're probably considering the fact that you are going to hurt their feelings. If that's the way you feel, be kind and gently let the other person know that it just isn't working out. If you don't, you're just stringing the other person along, and that's very unkind. Good luck.

Oh my gosh like totally yesss!! I am actually going through the same situation now with this guy who suddenly stopped speaking to me, and I am dying to find out what happened and why he is ignoring me. Even if you can not verbally tell them you lost interest, send a text message, e-mail or letter. If you want, you can e-mail me at tracy_moed@yahoo.com so we can talk about it:)

Absolutely...YES It is better to hurt them this way than by cheating on them, etc. and being sneaky about it. You can tell them gently that your feelings have changed and it will soften the blow. They will respect you for it and you will respect yourself in the morning too. Wouldn't you want the same courtesy.? Explain it's nothing they did, just you want to experience other things, etc.
