When I download a video?

Why is it when it is complete, lets say on real player, it shows that it only has 2 minutes and yet continues on? Is there a way to make the total length visible?

So it looks like it is 2 minutes long, but then it is actually a lot longer. I think it is just a strange glitch. I have never seen that happen.
