Absolutely yes it is! Hydrocodone 10/325 is the generic for Norco. It has 10mg of the narcotic hydrocodone and 325mg of the analgesic/fever reducer acetaminophen(Tylenol). The 5/500 hydrocodone is the generic for Lortab/Vicodin. It has 5mg of the narcotic hydrocodone and 500mg of acetaminophen(Tylenol). So one of the 10mg pills is the same as taking two of the 5mg tablets. However, some doctors prescribe the 10/325mg tablets if you plan on taking them for an extended period of time due to the lower tylenol than the 5/500 tablets. Remember the active ingredient is Hydrocodone, not codeine as everyone else is saying. There are risks associated with taking narcotics, especially for long periods, but it is the Tylenol you should really be concerned with as it may cause liver failure especially if you consume alcohol with it. Good times but be careful. If you ever have a question regarding pills in the future call the Poison Control Center-seriously.It's confidential and they can identify pills just by the numbers on them and the description of them.

You left out one vital piece of information. What strength was the Tylenol that you took? If they were extra strength then they are 500mg each. Otherwise they were regular strength at 325 mg each. Tylenol in large doses are toxic to the liver. Did your doctor reccommend tylenol or motrin? Taking a vicodin now won't kill you but I would contact your doctor's office regarding what else to take for break through pain. Those vicodin have 500 mg of tylenol in them and as I mentioned too there is such a thing as too much tylenol. There should either be a number for an hours doctor or for an advise nurse who will know what your doctor reccommends. This number should be on your discharge paperwork. The idea with pain medication is to not waite until it hurts so bad to take the medicine because it then takes more medicine to get the pain under control. It is a lot easier to take one pill when your pain is a 5 out of 10 then to try to get relief with 2 pills when the pain is a 10 out of 10.

Because there is less tylenol(acetiminophen) therfore you are getting more of the hydrocodone. !0/325's are called Norco's. You can take 2 5/500's, but you will be getting more acetiminophen, and that can be bad for your liver over a long period of time.

Yes you are getting 10 mg of the generic of vicoding and 325 mg of tylenol, on the other hand 5/500 is 5 mg of generic vicodin and 500 mg of tylenol. The 10 over 325 is a good bit stronger when you feel it you'll now it! Watch out.

10 mg of hydrocodone is stronger than 5mg of hydrocodone, 325 mg of acetaminophen is less than 500 mg. Therefore, yes- the pill is stronger but it has less tylenol (acetaminophen) than the other...I take 10/325's because the larger dose of tylenol causes swelling (edema.)
