I am trying to download Windows Messenger Live but when I do, I get a screen that says my security settings won't allow the download. My security settings haven't been changed. I recently downloaded Windows Service Pack 2 and have since read somewhere that this can cause problems when trying to successfully download. Anyone know how to get around this?

Don't listen to that spammer, it's got nothing to do with your firewall. In IE go to Tools > Internet Options, Security tab, click on Custom Settings, go to the section for Downloads, and set File Download to enable.

try turning off your firewall & your antivirus
before downloading Messenger

also check to see if Windows messenger got listed on the untrusted list un-intentionally
