Introduce them slowly and always under supervision. When you can't be around, you're going to need to keep them separated from each other until you're certain that they've gotten used to each other's presence. Be sure to give both animals lots of personal attention. It's likely to take some time for everyone to adjust.

Ok I now have two cats and one dog. If you have a male cat it may be harder but a female will most likely run, unless shes a tomboy. Anyway get a crate and crate the animals, give them turns. The dog should be in the crate all night though. Eventually the dog and cat will almost be use to eachother but still attack eachother. Then hold the dog or have it on a leash(depends on size), and get someone else to hold the cat, hold them near eachother but hold their paws so they cant scratch. Then in a while after doing all that you can let them out together with some supervision. Then it might be ok after another while.

Keep your cat in a separate room with his own litter box and food. Let the animals get to know each others scent through the door for several days. Maybe even a week or so. This will get them used to each others presence without feeling threatened. Then slowly introduce them but make sure it's supervised and that you will be able to separate them if it doesn't go well.

Well you need to clarify your question as it makes absolutely no sense. But what need to happen is the new animal needs to get a lay of the land, let him explore the whole aprtment without the other animal. Put him in a seperate room or something. Once the new animal is fairly well situated it is time to introduce the new animal. Dont force them to intereact they will do what they need and it may take a few days for them to even acnowledge each other closely and they may both act weird but it will come and they will be fine together eventually.

Just let them get used to each other. If they start to fight use the good ole spray bottle of water and give them a little spray. You don't have to drench them till they are dripping wet just a quick spray and say "NO!" they will get the idea.

Keep them at a safe distance. Almost where they can touch but not quite. Keep it that way until they back off, then just keep reducing space until they can live without being chained up.
