My puppy is 6 months old. She is very hyperactive.
Any ideas on how to get her to calm down? She goes for a walk everyday and gets to go outside after I get home from work.
We also play tug-of-war and toss with her, but none of these activites seem to help her settle down.

The dog needs more than 5 minutes of play. Walk her again when you get home.

westie's are a terrier. they are high energy by breed definition. try adding another long strenous walk to her schedule. she is a puppy and will be more active than an older dog. she needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation right now. tug-of-war is not a good game to play with any puppy unless you win each and every time. this becomes a power struggle game for the pup and can cause trouble later on. stick with fetch.

That is a true terrier breed...if you did not want a hyper dog you should not have gotten a terrier...they are very fun and sweet...there is this toy called a Kong that you fill with treats...it takes up a lot of chewing time and catches their attention
