Its all about perception, how you perceive yourself. You may think they look ok but they may feel they are not and actually be quite self conscious.

Some people think they look odd in a photograph, this is because they are use to looking at themselves in the mirror. People used to think that a part of their spirit was captured in the photograph.

I can only answer based on my own personal experience. I have been told by others my entire life that I am a pretty girl but I still HATE to have my picture taken , or have any focus on myself for that matter. In my case it is because being pretty has never gotten me anywhere or anything exceptional, it's only gotten me undesired attention from strangers.Also being what society considers attractive makes it hard for me to be friendly to men without them assuming they have "a chance" to hook-up with me since most really pretty girls are bitches that don't talk to strange men.These days you can't be too careful as a woman when it comes to who you trust-especially regarding photographs.A lot of men use the photographer persona to lure attractive women to their houses, etc. in order to harm them.So be understanding.

I think its because they actually think they do not come out well in photos or they might be insecure in the way they look.

because in their eyes they dont look decent.Maybe they dont like their nose or they think that their teeth are ugly.....a million stupid reasons.
