because the neighbor agreed to pay $60 for the entire job
$60 divided by 2 = $30 for the front / $30 for the back
$30 divided by 2 = $15 for 2 girls that did the front yard
$30 divided by 3 = $10 for 3 girls that did the back yard
so for the first 2 girls they get $25
and for the third girl, she gets $10

1/2 of the work was done by two. So each of them already gets 1/4 of the pay. The other half is split into 3. So 1/2 divided by 3 is 1/6.
The first two friends get (1/4)+(1/6) each of the total pay ($60).
The third one gets the rest.
(1/4)+(1/6)=5/12 of $60.
$25 each of the friends who were early.
$10 for the one that was late.

2 yards = $60
1 yard = $60 / 2 = $30
First yard = Jean + one friend / $30 = $15 per person
Second yard = Jean+ one friend+ third person / $30 = $10
jean = $15 + $10 = $25
one friend = $15 + $10 = $25
third friend = $ 0 + $10 = $10
= $60

the money should be slit up 5 ways.
first split the money in two, so that each yard is $30 each. then split that in half and give it to jeanneine and the friend that was on time. Again take the other half and split that 3 ways.
Jeanneine =25
friend(on time) =25
friend(late) =10
=60

As has already been said,,,,,
Jeanneine and friend A get 1/2 x $30 each= $15 each for the front yard
Jeanneine and friends A & B get 1/3 x $30= $ 10 each for the back yard
Jeanneine gets $25
Friend A gets $25
Ex-friend only gets $10 becasue she didn't get her lazy butt out of bed and probably looses 2 friends over it.

20+20+20=60
(20+5)+(20+5)+10=60
25=Jeanie
25=one friend
10=other friend
Since Jeanie and Friend 1 had to do friend 2's part of the front they get friend 2's money of the front.

Well, since the third person gets half what the other two get, and the 1st-2nd get the same, you can write an equation...(say 1st friend is A, 2nd-B, 3rd-C)
A=B
C=1/2B
C=1/2A
A+B+C=60
(B)+B+1/2B=60
2.5B=60
B=24
A=24
C=12
So the 1st and 2nd friend should get $24 each, while the 3rd gets $12.
