I don't see any reason why humans cannot eat dog food . It's just the idea of it and also what all could be included in it . Not very appetizing . In any event whatever it is that's in there it's got to be 'dead' so it's safe . LOL
If a person is looking for a cheap food however, then look again at the price of a good brand of it .

Good Question---TO FUNNY
I would assume you could, I mean i'm sure you wouldn't die because theres no intoxic ingredients to kill ya. Theres no big news where theres a wide spread of deaths in eating dog/cat food.
But....In REALITY I really wouldn't know because I have never tryed it. You shouldn't try it either because it might make you gag. But I don't think your intention of the question was too right?
I on the other hand feel that some foods have the smell of dog food to it and you kinda feel like your eating dog food.

Dog Food holds no nutritional value for the human Body & prolonged use my cause diareaer, though in tough times it will fill the body. Inthe early 70s in Australia the pet food companies had to put a pet food only disclaimer on the top of the tin, due to the fact that migrants thought it was for human consumption.

I would say that high quality dog food is probably healthier than what most American's eat every day...
But in general dog food is only bad for you because of the high fat content. Dogs need more fat than people.
Low grade dog food would be like eating a cheap hot dog in the 80's - before people knew what they were actually made of..

Yes they can eat it but it is very dry. When we were shopping for dog food at Pet Smart for our new puppy, the manager pointed out to us puppy foods and snacks that were safe for human consumption just in case we had young ones at home. All of products were made with ingredients that were used in many of our foods as well. It is just not safe for dogs to eat our food. Especially chocolate, that can be lethel to dogs.

Most commercial dog foods are made from materials unusable or less desirable for human consumption. These may include:
* Meat by-products or digests
* Meat-and-bone meals
* Grain by-products
Less expensive dog foods generally include less meat, and more animal by-products and grain "fillers". The most expensive dogs foods may be made of ingredients suitable for human consumption, organic products, or free-range meats.
They sometimes use raw meat too

It won't make you sick but is very high in crude proteins and (sometimes) animal by products, and so it isn't especially good for humans, being as we're omnivores and dogs are carnivores. And I have heard it tastes gross, like sand.

yes.it is most likely to be bad for your body because the nutrients inside the animal food is not strong enough or equal needed for the humans system ...u will probably get a bad stomache but y would try that in the 1st place unless u don't have nuthing to eat.

It is not designed for human nutritional needs, but it could sustain you. It has a lot of grain and fat, and the meat in it is generally inferior cuts, and overall it doesn't taste great, but sure, chow down.
