This really depends on the guy and true nice guys can be jaded because women typically go for the opposite, the *******.
Try striking up a conversation, show open body language or show interest, period.

What i look for in a woman is caring, smart, down to earth, not conceeded, outgoing, energetic, able to do anything from go camping to a Broadway play. Looks aren't everything. you have to be friends before you are husband and wife. Most important is to be yourself. Men don't like women who are fakes. Good Luck

Chances are you're not going to find a nice boy. The guys most of the ladies seem to notice are the jerk ones that act over confident, because they are the only ones willing to make moves.
Chances are that a nice guy already has noticed you and is too nervous or too polite to say anything to you. Nice guys often value friendship with a girl more than a relationship, and aren't willing to risk their friendship to admit they like you. Try to be yourself and listen to what "nice guys" really have to say.

a girl good with kids, loyal, strong in charactor, willing to have fun-- sometimes even to the point of embarrasment... a nice smile-- somewhat prudent... not full of complaining, and not afraid to show weakness.

I think it's mostly body language. You want somebody spontaneous, with good self-confidence. To get somebody like that, you have to be really easy to talk to, not to mention putting out.
