Move on, princess ... it is all over! He, like all men, wants his cake and wants to eat it too.
I know ... I'm a bloke and I have made overtures to ex's simply because I want to cover all my options

'let him take the reigns'? NOOOOO!!
To be honest he sounds like he is confused and too young for the 'long haul'. Dont listen to it!
if you were being all nice and letting him walk all over you, he may have got fustrated with it, maybe he liked it before if you challenged him, and all that.
Dont worry about that ment to be stuff... it will all work out, just leave him chill for a week or so, you see other guys (make him jealous) and everything will be a lot clearer. You just have to be patient... i know its hard, so go out with your friends, dont think or talk about him and enjoy filrting with that guy who works at mcdonalds or where ever. Life is too short to stand still over one person.... go have fun.

The magic died after six weeks? That's the silliest thing I ever heard. That's man-code for I'm going to hit this other chick, but just in case it doesn't work out, hang a bit, K?

Ok I'm going to keep this simple and to the point. I'd keep an open mind, don't totally shut him out, but don't let him in. Let him work for you, guys like a challenge. Def. do not put your life on hold for him. Make him win you over. Remember, he broke your heart.

Run! He sounds emotionally unstable and is pushing you in that direction. Know this, what is for you, is for you. No one or thing can take that away. Anything that is of any benefit or good for you does not have drama, negativity or the feeling of unassuredness. If its right, you'll know it and won't have to ask us. And because you have asked, something is really wrong with it.

fourtune tellers are hit or miss not everything they say is true or eaven can be inturprated the way you want. you should not base your life on what a fourtune teller says thats how they get lots of money from you. if things were ment to be with him it will work out talk to him ask him strate out if he is still intrested in you if not forget him.

I say go for it. If he loves you as much as he said he does then you have nothing to worry about. Tell him how you feel he will listen. Besides if you don't you will always wonder and then you will never know for sure.

if you engage in small talk again act overly happy and tell him you have a new boyfriend, if he starts to call you again and "coincidently" meet you after work he's still interested...
PERSONALLY THOUGH I WOULD MOVE ON EVEN IF HE'S STILL INTERESTED BECAUSE HE'S NOT REAL OR SERIOUS AND HE PROBABLY CHEATED ON YOU 2, TRUST ME!
