What is the rule if you hit your ball out of bounds on a shot initiated from the fairway?

drop another ball from where you hit it, now you are hitting 4.

Hit again from the same spot and add 1 stroke,so if you hit out on 2,your would drop and be hitting 4 !!

umm its ruled ob doesnt matter if its from green or tee, i hope.
