Basically, OBGYNs require 12-15 years of intense schooling in order to become certified. The salary and numbers all depend according to region.
But I need to say is that OBGYNs are one of the most expensive doctors to insure (I work at a medical insurance company, so I would know), because the risks are greatly increased in this field.
Yearly insurance bills can top $220000 (I know this from experience)
I hope I haven't discouraged you, but all you need to know is that you'd better be damn good at what you're doing to thrive as an OB/GYN in this country.
