I joke by day, and read by night. I love facts and other mathematically based subject. Humor isn't the issue. As a fourteen year old, I have enough sources.

For philosophy nothing will beat Ralph Waldo Emmerson's collected essays especially "Self Reliance." It will change your life.
As a side note with all of that serious reading to clear your head so you can sleep you need something for fun. A book that you will throw down laughing from is "Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man" by Fannie Flagg or enjoy the quick read "Tales of the City" by Armistead Maupin. Each chapter was originally a daily entry in the San Francisco Chronicle as a continuing fictional account of the happenings of several people in San Francisco and so they read quick, are hilarious and also contains a really suspensful and exciting mystery as well. I finished it in a night because I couldn't put it down and it led me on to the just as wonderful "More Tales of the City" and "Further tales of the City" You will love them.
