My father was a teacher and often had unusual names among his students. Some I remember well were two brothers, Pumpkin and Waiter Jones, and another student named Coach Green. I often wonder if the latter grew up to be a phys. ed. instructor.

Ganger Rolf, who was a Viking (also known as Rollo), had a rather colorful name. Pearla and Sela were first names for boys in my family tree--unusual enough to make it easy to trace the family, whose surname was much more common!
