Nothing. The creationists were getting a good kicking, so they changed their name and tried to force some "science" out of the bible to fool the already deluded.

Creationism and Intelligent Design=The Creator who is The Intelligent Designer. Both the same source no matter what opposing sides have. And it took thousands of years to develop.

Mainworthy and Carnac and Lend322..Thankyou for excellent reasoning.

Sorry Mainworry I spelt your name incorrectly..But it sounded rather nice.

Intelligent Design is non-biblical creationism. ID is not faith based, it does not address who or what the Intelligent Designer is or why. ID simply says that some things are best explained by the application of intelligent, purposeful design. ID acknowledges the belief that unguided, natural selection cannot explain the development of complex structures such as self-replicating DNA.

Charles Darwin was a creationist of sorts. He believed all species evolved from an original ancestor but he couldn't explain what the first living thing evolved from. Darwin believed that the first living thing was created by a creator.

I bet most of those answering have not inspected either very deeply. Creationism is pretty much the same thing as intelligent design. Go to the Institute for Creation Research site
www.icr.org
as well as the intelligent design site for the scoop.

Creatonism is mostly from Christian sources who believe science backs up much of the Bible.

Intelligent Design is from Christian and nonreligous sources who say science points to a creator.

I am not sure what you are asking, but let me assume that you are speaking of Creationists who believe that the 6 creative days were literally 24 hours each. God's creative days were millions if not billions of years. I am sure some longer than others, but it was certainly by intelligent design that it came to be. That Designer was God. I think the difference would then be that Creationists are saying that the time frame for each creative day was 24 hours, and I believe that the earth was created (and all that is in it) by intelligent design, but that it took eons of time, but that each creative day was a period of time.

None.

The proof and evidence is all around you and everywhere, undeniable proof, and indisputable visible evidence. It is called creation and life. Unless your are blind, deaf, and senseless. You can see, smell, taste, hear, feel, and examine the evidence.

We live on a planet teeming with life. Plant life with approximately 250,000 species, animal life with over a million species. Scientists are learning just how complex life is. So complex that it requires design. The evidence of design requires a designer. Scientists are also learning the conditions for life; just how perfect conditions here on planet Earth are to support all this life.

The human brain, it absorbs forty megabytes per second of data while awake. That is two terabytes of data a day. At night, it sorts and stores that data through the creation of new chemical bonds and synaptic connectors.

Sure, right, this all just happened and evolved. This sort of thinking takes considerable faith, exponentially more faith than believing in a creator.

Creationism is traditionally Christian; it means that the god/goddess created the creature in their image right off the bat and there was no room for anything else.

Intelligent Design means that the god/goddess(s) created the being and designed them. They could have designed them there on the spot, or guided their development in an evolution-esque way.

Fundamentally different in many ways, so not to-mae-to, to-mah-to. Sorry to burst that bubble.

ID is Creationism that masks its Judeo-Christian nature by talking about a generic designer god instead of the God of the bible. It's just as unscientific, but its proponents try to pass it off as such by hiding what it really is. For example, it's clearly monotheistic, while there may be multiple gods who all helped design the universe. ID should be open to the possibility (at least with the level of *cough*-evidence-*cough* it has now), but it only allows for one god, primarily the Judeo-Christian one.

ID insists on a creator in general, creationism usually on a specific creator. Both miss (even within their own contrived ideas)the possibility of committee.

Just the same old car with a new coat of paint. They call it Intelligent Design just so they can make it sound more intelligent.
