I saw one in town this lady had and it was the cutest, most friendly puppy I have ever seen. Anyone know a breeder or someplace online that sells mixed breeds like this?

An Animal Shelter. Such mixes or "designer breeds" are nothing more than a money making scheme. Any "breeder" that sells such mixes are unscrupulous and flat out do not care about their dogs. A mix could give you any number of physical and personality traits, its a crap shoot. Instead of paying a rediculous price for a mutt, please go to your local animal shelter or rescue and find the dog that suits you, and you'll be giving them a second chance at life. Looking in a shelter is a great idea! You can give a dog a new loving home, and there are chihuahuas mixed with just about anything in shelters these days, so your sure to find something that suits you. Dont buy from any supposed breeder or website. They will rip you off big time, plus the dogs are often from puppy farms and other awful places, not something you want to be a part of. Shelters normally charge reasonable adoption fees and you are often saving a dogs life. Definately the way to go :)

you should never buy a mixed breed from a breeder. check out petfinder and you can find chihuahua's mixed with every breed imaginable. when you adopt one from a shelter or rescue you are not only saving a life, but the dog comes to you already spayed, or neutered and vaccinated. if you research one often they will be able to place a puppy or dog that fits your temperment, making this a dog you can bond with easily and enjoy for many years. good luck.

Shelters are definitely a great place to look. You can also look at www.petfinder.com It is a website created for shelter/rescue groups etc to post adoptable pets. You can type in the breed you are looking for, male/female, age etc and it will start searching from your area and then expand.
