My boyfriend's sister is going through a rough time right now so I'm taking care of her 2 year old boston terrier until she gets some healing time. The only thing is...he's just INSANE. Granted a majority of his life has been in an apartment kitchen, and sometimes the actual apartment...is that what is making him so crazy? Or are they supposed to be like that? Crazy as in...he RARELY stops running fast and jumping and breathing heavy and oh my gosh PLEASE HELP!!!

Boston Terrors have two speeds, off and gogogogogogo!!! In about five years he'll start to mellow out. *smirk* You might think I'm joking, but my parents have one, he's got just over half an acre to run around and still, runrunrunrunrun! He's 7 now, well.... maybe not quite another five years, but it'll be a while. They're fun little dogs though.

Dogs do not just sit around and look cute all day. The Boston needs exercise. He has to move around "free play"or the confinement with boredom will make him nuts. Give the dog something to do everyday. Short walks and "free play" are the best thing for this dog. They are sensitive to heat and cold temps.

terriers are known to be high energy dogs. if he has not and is still not receiving proper exercise, like walking at least twice a day, he will continue to make you nuts. find the time to take the dog on a walk at least twice a day and stimulate him mentally during the day. if he's properly exercised he will relax and rest when he's in the house. good luck.

My daughter has a pup and I know exactly what you mean. He's fairly calm with her but around others he's quite energetic! Try taking him for long walks to wear him down a little. Whatever you do, DONT THROW A BALL in the house or you'll be throwing it for hours!!! LOL Good luck!
