Remington 870 will be a fine choice. It is known for it's durability and dependability, as well as it's low price. It also comes in a turkey camo. You can get one with a 3" chamber or a 3 1/2" chamber, however I have never found it necessary to use anything bigger than a 3" magnum.

I second and third the picks for the 870. They are known as the most durable and reliable shotgun for the money. The Mossbergs are fine too but having owned both in the past... I sold the Mossbergs and bought a few more 870's.
The only advantage I see to the Mossberg is the location of the safety and that is only if you shoot left handed.

Go with the Mossberg 835. It will cost a little extra but get the camo finish and the barrel combo. ( 3 1/2" slugs with a rifled barrel makes the Ulit-Mag great for dear also, and the field barrel is a 10 gauge overbore so you can't shoot slugs through it.)
The screw out choke tubes make it adaptable to a variety of conditions and game. The 3 1/2" reach may not always be a huge advantage in turkey hunting, but for waterfowl it is very nice.
Also they make two models designed primarily for turkey hunting (shorter barrels, Ulti-full srew out chokes, specialty stocks, hi-def camo, adjustable fiber optic sights,) if you wanted to pay for the extra features.
They also make a 3 1/2" Autoloader, the 935 if you were so inclined.

I have had a Mossberg 835 12 guage for years. It outshoots far more expensive guns and it comes standard with features like being overbored, chambered for 2.75, 3 and 3.5 inch shells, its ported, it has interchangeable chokes and it has a raised sight rib.
Availible at Wal-Mart for under $290. Camo guns cost extra.
I use Winchester Supreme #5 or #6 turkey loads. The combination of quality ammo and a quality shotgun have worked everytime.

The best bang for the buck is a Mossberg 835. It's chambered in 3.5" and can be bought for under 300 bucks. It's also made in the USA as where Remington is made in Japan and sold at WalMart.

I'd go for the mossberg 935 in 3 1/2" chamber, the 835 is a great gun but if you can get an autoloader for less than $500 I'd go for it.

The mossberg is a great turkey gun. I hope your going with the 835. The 500 is alot cheaper price but that is because its a cheaper gun. I also dont like the recoil of the 500 it rises up alot instead of coming straight back. Also check out a dunhams sporting goods if you have one. I have found alot of great prices on guns there also.

I use the Mossburg 835 Ulti-Mag with an aftermarket turkey choke and a scope. This is the best turkey gun I have ever used! Although it is capable of shooting the 3.5 shells mine preforms best with the 3 inch # 6 shot.
