Neither of them hurt, they just make your mouth sore. The braces make your mouth sore because they are moving all of your teeth at once and the spacers are only moving a few teeth. The spacers were the most annoying though.

spacers! I got both braces and a spacer the dentist put on me. First i got my spacer on and it hurt so bad i couldn't even eat and gave me a lot of head aches this lasted about a month. My headaches would usually stop when i took Motrin. Then I had to twirl the spacer with a key and it would hurt. Then i got braces and it really didn't hurt only about 3 days or so. Maybe because i was already used to the pain of the spacer. Its not really that braces hurt its that they bother but you will get used to them.

Braces because they hurt more often. With brace they hurt every 6-8 weeks because they tighten them. with spacers it is only a few days, once.

Braces hurt more, they're moving all of your teeth at once. But I hated spacers because when they were moving my teeth I felt like I could take them out - I had to exercise serious self restraint to not pick at them. Eat right before you get your braces tightened and keep Motrin on hand. You'll love your smile when your done!

i think that braces, i remember having headache every month after going with the dentist aaaaaah, bad days, but now i love my smile
