read Genesis chapter 2 verse 7. Jehovah blow the breath of life into Adam and he became a living soul. so you are the soul and when you die, your soul dies. it does not go to heaven. hell is the common grave (Sheol). we wait until Jehovah raises us from the dead to live again on the earth. remember the meek shall live forever on earth, what Adam and Eve lost. it is in the king james bible also. www.watchtower.org

Soul is a loosely used term to describe the inner workings of a persons thoughts and actions.

It is translated from the Hebrew and it actually refers to the breath. Read the story of God creating Adam and you will notice that God breathed the life into Adam.

Before Adam got that breath what was he? A lump of dirt. Was he a dead soul? I don't think so. He was just not alive. When the breath of life leaves a person they are as if in a deep sleep and won't know anything till Jesus resurrects them.

The dead know NOTHING. That indicates to me the "soul" does not float around in some heavenly world waiting to be reunited with the body. The body and the breath combine to make a soul...

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

Nowhere does Scripture explicitly state that animals do not have souls...There is nothing in Scripture I know of that would preclude the possibility of animals' continued existence...The Bible does give us some reason to hope that departed animals will be restored. We read in the Bible that redemption is a cosmic matter. The whole creation is destined to be redeemed through the work of Christ (Romans 8:21), and we see the images of what heaven will be like; beautiful passages of Scripture tell us about the lion and lamb and other animals being at peace with one another.(Isaiah 11:6-8). Whenever heaven is described, though it may be in highly imaginative language, it is a place where animals seem to be present. Whether these are animals newly created for the new heavens and the new earth, or they are the redeemed souls of our pets that have perished, we can't know for sure.

All souls are immortal. We're just souls in a shell, when the shell ceases to breathe anymore, our souls live on. Both animals and humans.

Humans either go to Heaven or Hell. It's your choice. Humans are the only animals that have a soul.

A soul is nothing more than a figment of your imagination. It will do the same thing as the rest of your imagination will do when you die. It will decompose with the the rest of your body.

Your soul goes to heaven. It is said that animals have no soul, but somehow I believe they do and we'll find our four legged friends waiting for us when we get there.

animals are not self aware, they are not able to distinguish right from wrong, until science breaks down this barrier with either artificial intelligence or genetic enhancements to animals, this topic is a dead issue
