all dogs shed, you can't stop it. anything with hair in a follicle will shed. if it is excessive see your vet and make sure it's not a medical problem such as thyroid, or something else. if it's not medical you can reduce the amount of hair that is shed, by feeding a premuim dog food, and the dog should be bathed no more than once a month. and brushing the dog with a slicker brush at least twice a week is helpful with a pit's coat to help remove dead hair. good luck.

You can't eliminate all shedding but you can lessen it by bathing with a bath glove, brushing your dog daily with a soft brush and diet can also play a part in how much shedding happens.
My dog eats a high quality dog food which is good for skin and coat, she also has skin and coat treats and supplements.
One of the main ones is 3V Skin Caps which I got from my Vet and it has Omega 3, Vit A, D and E in it, which work together to improve skin and coat.

If you brush him weekly with a rubber curry brush or a furminator tool this will help the shedding decrease.
