Perhaps a project examining the effects of cats upon the welfare of indigenous (native) wildlife might be interesting!
The level of complexity could vary according to the interest of the young lady or gentleman undertaking the study!
For example, a fairly complex project could consider the types of legislation being introduced in various countries, to protect wildlife from domestic cats.
Alternatively, a low-key study could be undertaken by keeping a daily journal or diary-log of wildlife kills by the family pet over a specific time-period. And, this study could , of course be rendered more complex by recruiting friends and family to keep similar daily logs of their cats' kills.
