You need to take the dog to the vet. You can either take a stool sample with you, or the vet will take one from the puppy when you get there. It's important to know what kind of worms the pup has before you go and start buying over the counter medications that might not not work, or only work for one type of worm. Puppies can have roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms or whip worms, wand without taking the dog for an exam, you're only guessing.

Aside from that, the pup is going to need several series of vaccines as well, so don't waste your money on over the counter worming medications that may or may not help.

You take a stool sample to the vet and get a fecal test done to see what type of worms are present and then the vet will dispense the proper medication. It will either be liquid or pill depending on type(s) of worms the puppy has.

Do NOT use OTC dewormers they are ineffective and they can be dangerous.

Go to the veterinarian. They have special medicine they use. They also have medicine available at Wal-Mart or any pet store for that, but I recommend going to the vet.

The safe way would be let the vet do it. The over the counter wormers can and will kill your pup.

Taking it to the vet is the easiest way, but if you would like to give the medicine yourself, you can order it at: 1800petmeds.com or you can call them at 1-800-Pet-Meds. Also, places like Wal-Mart has this, but I do not believe it is as high-quality as a vet's medications.
