i am off to s'pore on saturday, direct flight with s'pore airines from heathrow.
i searched for ages on the net and the best deal i found which also included all hotel stays which were cheaper through these people than booking myself was with,www.airlinenetwork.co.uk
but you will end up phoning them on,0871 700 1777.
try the hotel furama in chinatown city centre its great. i was also there dec 05 to early jan 06. spent new year at langkawi which i totally reccomend, flights to langkawi can be from s'pore for abt £120 return.hotel aseiana is good there but book this hotel direct i have rooms booked there for £19 per double room/night incl b/fast which has 2 double beds in it and en-suite and balcony execellent value.and it is close to beach and restaurants.car hire is soooo cheap too, £18 for 3 days incl fuel. best place for money exchange for s'pore i found to be, First choice in your high street i did a lot of research there too to find best rates.
there i have done all the work for you, shall i go on the holiday for you as well? have a fun time and don't forget to go to santosa island whilst in s'pore. mahoney300456@yahoo.co.uk

Only two airlines fly directly between the United Kingdom and Singapore. British Airways flies between London-Heathrow and Singapore-Changi; Singapore Airlines flies to Singapore-Changi from London-Heathrow and Manchester.

Note that often much cheaper fares can be found on other airlines flying via their respective hubs (Lufthansa via Frankfurt, KLM via Amsterdam, Emirates via Dubai). This will obviously mean a change of aircraft, though this is surely only a minor discomfort if price is your main concern. Luggage is usually checked through to your final destination if you book a connection through the same airline. Thus you usually do not have to collect your luggage and check it in a second time at the connecting airport; the airline will automatically transfer your luggage from the first to the second flight.

If you decide to consider the possibility of an indirect flight, my advice to you is to use an online travel company to find the cheapest airline - I generally use www.expedia.co.uk - then go directly to that airline's website and book your flights there. You will generally find an even cheaper fare there as you avoid the travel company's commission fee.

www.cheapflights.co.uk or www.cheapflights.com if you are in the US and then go direct to the airline showing the best deal and see if you can get it any cheaper.
Play with your return date if you cant play with your outward a day either side if you can and this might help bring the price down a bit more!
