NK, You speak of evidence? Tell me, is there evidence for talking serpents?

As you say, these are matters of faith, and faith is a belief in something for which there is no proof. This is fine. There is nothing wrong with faith. But your faith that allows you to believe in talking serpents is no better than mine that disbelieves it.

We're not talking about God here. We're talking about a belief in talking serpents.

No, I don't believe that every phrase in the Bible should be taken literally.

Maybe. Maybe not. An atheist might believe in a talking serpent if they're into that sort of thing. As long as they don't believe that the talking serpent is god. Or from god. Or against god, or anything else to do with god.

I'm not a bible literalist, but if you don't believe in talking snakes you may be an aserpentinusvocae. If you are afraid of talking snakes you would be a serpentinusvocaphobe. Such a condition may be treated by exposure to serpentinusvocae in gradually increased periods of time.

It is important to listen carefully to serpentinusvocae during an encounter as they can be highly deceptive in nature, and are extremely poisonous. If bitten by one, immediatly apply a salve of logic and rationality to the bitten area.

THAT OLD SERPENT

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

No but you may be an Atheist if you believe animals transform into other animals. I used to see those in kids books, the anamorphs thing where a human transforms into a eagle or whatever.

No. Just wrong, but not entirely goofy, it's not like you can go out and see one now. This is something we take on faith, based on the fact that the evidence for the Bible outweighs the evidence against. Our faith should always be based on evidence. Glad this got you to ask another question. Yes, there is enough historical, archaeological evidence to support the claims of the Bible. You spend money base on the faith that someone is gonna take it as payment for something, and this is based on the evidence that you have seen other people do so.

Ummm... no. You might not be a pentacostal, but an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God.
