It does get annoying, doesn't it? It also gets annoying when white people say Jesus was white. He was from the middle east, so he probably had deeply tanned skin, black hair and dark brown eyes.

I have never heard a black person say Jesus is black. All the black friends I have and acquaintances know Jesus is Jewish. How many black people has told you, or, you have heard them say, "They think Jesus is black"? I'll bet not very many.
By the way, I have always felt that Jesus had dark brown eyes as most Jews. And was very very tan since he walked the desert for 3 years. He could have had the blue eyes and He could have had the reddish brown hair. But I'm sure as sure can be he was not fair complected. I don't see how He could be, living in the desert as he did. So He must not have been white. Who cares any way? He could be green for all I care and I would continue to follow Him.

Your quote is speaking of a returning Jesus, and is using rather powerful imagery. I believe it also says a sword comes out of his mouth. I would venture it's not a racial description.
The logic of people who think Jesus was the color of today's Palestinians (which actually varies from me, who's considered black in America; to porcelein skinned people) is somewhat shaky because it assumes that people living in the same area will be the same color 2,000 years later. That's not a safe assumption, particularly considering there's been a substantial Eastern and African immigration into the Levant (the area that includes Lebenon, Palestine and Syria) since then.
The best way to know what color Jesus was, is to lok at the murals from the area depicting Jews of his time. In the murals they are shown as light skinned, dark eyed bearded men with enormous Jew-fros.

Now you have misinterpreted. God was nor white or black. He would have looked like all the others did in the region He was born in. They tend to have brown eyes, hair, and caramel skin. This is a more accurate picture of Jesus.

A musical group called "Up With People" had song in their repertoire called "What Color is God's Skin?". The song speaks wonders as to understanding God & Jesus. I do believe because of the region of the world he resided, he was proably more Olive tone to Dark. All visual concepts of Jesus are based on the drawings commissioned by the Catholic Church some centuries ago.

Who says god is not black? The bible is not meant to be interpreted LITERALLY.
Leviticus 21:17-21 says we should not approach the alter if we have a deficit in our site, which I guess lets me out, I wear contacts and glasses.
Exodus 21:7 anyone who works on the Sabbath should be put to death...Well I guess I'm screwed....
I have a daughter and Exodus 21:7 says I should sell her into slavery.
There are times when my sons have been "stubborn or rebellious" so I guess according to Deuteronomy 21:18 I should take them to the outskirts of my village and have them stoned to death.
Think about it. Some call it Alah, Jehovah and on and on does that make it any less of a god?

So is it the hair being white (was he old?) or like wool (was he black?) that you're getting at here?
And what on earth are "eyes that are as a flame of fire"? I've never seen anyone of ANY colour like that.
Sure as anything, Jesus wasn't a white European. Deal with it.

It is silly really for the to say that Jesus was black.
Does that make blacks white if we call them white. Do not worry about that. Jesus was a Jew, He probably looked very much like the people look over there.

Sounds like Jesus needs rogaine..Maybe his hair is white cause he is old...
actually i think that this is just a figure of speech and after all john was having a "vision"...perhaps the answer is he was all white because he is pure or because of the jesus holy glow that surrounds him. the light of God.
actually seeing how jesus grew up in the middle east and was born there...its safe to say that he is more black than he is white. he has been known to be hebrew. and hebrew people are jewish, and jewish people are dark. add that fact to the fact that he was always in the sun and you have an almost black jesus.

Well if Jesus existed, he would have been Middle Eastern, i.e. darker skinned. And certainly not a White European like he is portrayed in so many paintings.
And in case you didn't know, it is possible for Black folks to have white hair, same with any race of people when they get older their hair turns grey or white.
